Martin & Ines – The Story Behind MAXTON

MAXTON was born from our shared passion for music, precision, and the constant search for the perfect connection between instrument and musician. We are Martin and Ines – both orchestral musicians who have been active in the professional music world for many years – Martin as a clarinetist with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and Ines as a violinist with the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria. Our daily work in renowned Austrian orchestras has instilled in us the highest musical standards and a deep understanding of how crucial every detail is to sound, expression, and playing feel.

These experiences form the foundation of MAXTON. Our company stands for innovation, precision, and the fusion of musical expertise with state-of-the-art technology. We founded MAXTON because we are convinced that traditional craftsmanship, scientific insights, and innovative manufacturing technologies can complement one another perfectly. With passion, expertise, and an entrepreneurial mindset, we develop solutions that advance woodwind instruments and their accessories in a sustainable way.

Ease of Play for Maximum Sound

The idea for MAXTON arose in particular from Martin’s many years of experience as a clarinetist with the ORF. The high standards of professional orchestral life led to an in-depth exploration of the instrument’s key components: the mouthpiece and the reed. This search for optimal solutions sparked the drive to rethink existing concepts and explore new avenues in materials, geometry, and manufacturing.

Together, we pursue the vision of combining musical expertise with innovative development. Our goal is to create products that support musicians of all skill levels – from early training, to ambitious amateurs, to professional performance at the highest level.
